As a Software Development Engineer in Test you will define, develop and execute an automated testing process for our TwinThread Web Application. While your primary focus will be on integration testing, you will work with multiple teams including Development to understand Unit test coverage, DevOps to understand the Continuous Integration process and Customer Support to understand issues customers see. You will also work with Product Management to understand the roadmap of new features and ensure a testing strategy is designed and in place as the new features are developed. The automated testing processes need to stay in lock step with the development process.
Daily responsibilities include:
Designing, selecting and building an automated test infrastructure that performs integration tests across the TwinThread application and is integrated with our Azure based DevOps processes.
Executing integration tests in sync with the Development process for all releases.
Developing new tests to support the testing of new features as they are released.
Designing new tests to expand overall automated test coverage of the TwinThread application.
Staying abreast of industry direction with respect to automated testing and ensuring our platform and strategy takes advantage of appropriate new technology and processes.
Executing the final smoke test on all releases and providing the final approval to move a release to Production.
A Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent and 4+ years of experience as Developer or SDET.
Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
Experience developing test automation tools and frameworks.
Experience developing high quality test strategies and test automation.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills and an ability to come up with creative solutions to difficult problems.
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
Shows creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness.
Experience with machine learning or big data systems is a plus.
Experience with Azure infrastructure preferred.
Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills.
Strong exposure with Cypress, Selenium, TestCafe or other automated testing tools.
Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
Willingness to work in a rapidly changing environment; ability to think abstractly.
Coding experience with automation framework, tools and servicesExperience in API testing.
Understanding of QA methodologies, life cycle and processes.
Expertise in database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procedures, jobs, triggers and replication.
